Some Encouraging News

My brother and I try to get the families together as often as we can. Apart from shelter and food, we as humans strive for relationships and acceptance. We both strongly believe that strong family bonds are an integral part of happiness and success. So this year we took the families to Ellijay in North Georgia. We rented a house on a lake on Walnut Mountain. We were able to go hiking, climb waterfalls, Zip-line, and raft the Upper Ocoee rapids. In case you are wondering, yes we did the Olympic section.   We shopped at local farms and ate great food.

I truly feel privileged at times like these, that I can take my family to experience these things. I am thankful for my Family, and the health of my body and that of my family members as well so that we can, all together, share these experiences. I also know for a fact that out health is not by luck or chance. I have dedicated an infinite number of hours learning how to take best take care of the health of this one body that I am going to be in for what I hope is a very long time.

So now to the encouraging news I heard during the drive home. Between podcasts and interviews while driving at times I will put on some music stations. So, as the commercials are coming on the DJ says something like this. A recent study was done on what we look at first on food labels. Than off course come the commercials. I obviously was not about to change the station.

The result for what most people now look at first on food labels is SUGAR content. My first thought was YES!!! We are getting through. People are listening. The food companies have lied to us long enough. People are finally realizing that the added sugar in our food is not supposed to be there. They are adding it to keep us addicted and eating more and more of the food like stuff they are creating. Hearing that on the radio was very encouraging that the voices of people like Dave Asprey, Mark Hyman and myself are being heard and that we are making an impact.

We all know it’s not good for us and we should not be consuming any products with added sugar. We also know how good some of these foods taste, but remember this, they are putting it in there to keep us addicted, so we buy more and consume more, with absolutely no regards for the health of the body you are living in.

Here is quick tip I used to help me change my mindset about sugar. They have now come up with over 60 names for sugar so they can hide it in our food. The food companies think that we are stupid and will not figure this out. So every time I see some form of sugar “hidden” in the ingredients list. I put it back on the shelf, because I refuse to give any of my money to a company that is disguising, basically what I see as poison in my food for their profit. Not a single dollar from this guy. This has worked for me when I have been standing in the grocery store with something in my hand that I was considering buying. If we stop giving them our money they will have to change their practice. So let’s make them change.
