Day 2 Water Only Fast
I never thought I could actually do this. I feel much better than I thought I would. The strange thing is I haven’t really been hungry. Do I feel like eating? Oh hell yes! But knowing what epigenetic changes were going on inside my cells right now is what gives me the strength to continue. Knowing that fasting can increase my life and healthspan is already enough for me to forge ahead. Add that to the fact that it reduces my risk of becoming diabetic, of acquiring cancer, lowers blood pressure cholesterol, triglycerides, inflammation and improves body composition (muscle to fat ratio) to me its not that hard of a choice. At may office today there was what looked like a ton of food. I really had no urge to eat any of it. It wasn’t that hard. When I got home I did feel like eating. Habit most likely as I usually get home and have a handful of nuts or some corn chips with hummus before dinner. It wasn’t that hard to refrain. Just had to think why I am doing this.
I really do feel good. The only real side effect so far has been that I did not sleep well last night. Having some herbal tea now and going to bed early. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings! 48 hours and going strong.
